Protoss Covert Ops IS OUT NOW!

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 12:46 PM PDT

I've just finished my lastest project. Protoss Covert Ops is a modification of the Nova missions. In this version, you play as a different protoss hero each mission. It features faction-themed missions, multiple difficulties, a choosing system for the Spear of Adun and unit variants, and dialogues and music from the Legacy of the Void campaign.

It can be played on the Campaigns section under Custom, so long as you own the original NCO campaign.

If 2v2 tournaments were serious events in the pro community, what races/strategies do you think would dominate?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 07:27 PM PDT

I was thinking about it today, what would the 2v2 meta be like if you had hundreds of pros grinding hours a day to find the most broken strats?

    1. Which race combos do you think would dominate? In broodwar, Z + Z was considered too strong, so it was against tournament rules for both players to pick zerg. This led to a "meta" where almost every team was zerg + random, in the hopes of getting a double zerg team. Would it be similar for sc2?

    2. What strategies do you think would dominate? The game would almost certainly be entirely early-game centric. Double ravager rush seems like it would be OP, but double cannon rush with some sort of proxy robo shenanigans might be broken. Tbh, almost any cheesey strat "doubled" seems incredibly busted. Double proxy rax reaper spam, early blink stalker rush, baneling busts, etc, you name it. OR, would it be something less obvious like P + T, stalker cyclone, or marine pheonix?

    3. Who would be contenders for the top team, assuming any 2 pros could partner with each other? I feel like any pro who excels in micro and small skirmishes would be top tier. sOs and parting with their warp prism immortal micro, byun because byun, dark with his nutty ability to survive indefinitely with like 8 drones and a dream, etc. Who's winning the next GSL 2v2 tourney?

    4. Do you think the game would be "solved" sooner or later? Or would the meta be somewhat diverse? Given that the game is not balanced around 2v2, would pros just figure out that a singular strat is unbeatable, and that would be that?

Nothing too serious here, just a thought I had today, and wanted to see what other people could dream up in a world where 2v2 is now the dominant sc2 game mode in the pro scene.

Reddit Petition - If Pillars Of Gold remains in the map pool PLEASE FIX THE MINERALS SO THEY MINE THE SAME AS OTHER MAPS

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 03:04 PM PDT

Kindly upvote for publicity if you agree, hopefully blizzard can do this incredibly simple fix for the next season.

For those who don't know, some of the minerals on pillars of gold are slightly too far away cause build orders to be different and annoying to play. It adds nothing in terms of strategic or tactic decision making

Is GSL still uploading player POV for season 3 on AfreecaTV?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 09:46 PM PDT

    http://bj.afreecatv.com/afgsl4/vods

This is the channel they uploaded last seasons to, but it hasn't had any of season 3 so far.

I've checked the channels afgsl0-6 but the rest are empty or ancient.

Are there rules to uploads that I'm not aware of? (don't put up till after the next rounds done, only put up ro8 onwards, etc?
