When is it appropriate to unpause if you suspect BM? Posted: 21 Dec 2020 10:09 AM PST I played someone on the ladder today. I lost. Was a bit pissed, but still managed to force myself to type gg. I queue up the next game and find the same opponent. This time I expect mass air and prepare myself. I take out a bunch of air units... and then they paused the game. No problem, I know people have kids/pets/deliveries/bowels. We all need to pause sometimes. But usually I ask for it, and then give an idea of how long it might be. Nothing. I type "?". Nothing. I type a few more prompts and still nothing. At no point in either game did they type in chat. So after 3 or 4 minutes I said "I will start in 2 min if you don't say something" and when 2 minutes passed without any response, I did a countdown from 10 and then unpaused the game. I hate unpausing the game on someone, but the timing of the pause coupled with the lack of any chat made me suspect I was being intentionally left hanging for a very long time. After unpause they did not continue playing. I would like feedback. Were my actions appropriate? Does this seem like BM to you or am I crazy? [link] [comments]

Let's talk about spoilers on this subreddit Posted: 21 Dec 2020 01:49 PM PST Here is why I believe r/starcraft needs to implement rules with regard to spoilers. r/starcraft is one of the only esport subreddits that does not have spoiler rules. r/leagueoflegends, r/dota2, r/overwatch, and more all have rules that do not allow posts to have spoilers in the titles for the first 24 hours after a match. StarCraft's two most watched leagues, GSL and DH Masters, are played over a nearly 24 hour time period. Even someone who watched StarCraft as their job would not be able to watch every premier tournament match live. Keeping out spoilers in the title does not prevent you from talking about StarCraft. I don't know if anybody else gets this vibe but anti-spoiler tag users sound like anti-maskers; a minor inconvenience to you that helps everybody else out should not be treated as some personal attack. Yes, a 24 hour rule on spoilers does not mean matches won't ever be spoiled. For example, even without having watched the tournament, most people could figure out Serral won Blizzcon in 2018 solely based on the upvotes of the congratulatory post. However, simply because this is not a perfect solution, doesn't mean it's not worth implementing. My proposal: Do not permit posts with spoilers in the title for 24 hours following a match. All posts with spoilers must be tagged as such. Comments that contain spoilers in non-spoiler posts should use the >!spoiler formatting!<. [link] [comments]

Learning community for new players! (Starcraft 2) Posted: 21 Dec 2020 05:02 AM PST Hey Starcraft 2 fans I want to introduce the community to a newer clan that has begun forming with-in the game, Zara's Templars. We're an NA community aimed toward helping players get involved in the game, start, and learn the game as a whole. We really wanna have a positive atmosphere for newer and experienced players alike to enjoy themselves, find practice partners or even teammates for some games. As a group we do clan wars occasionally, Peep-modes almost everyday for practice, Focused practice, Replay analysis and so much more! We are also included in the Chobo Team League and any of our members are welcome to apply to our roster and be a part of that incredible event. If anyone would be interested in joining the clan/community hit me up directly on reddit, discord or Battle.net, here are my tags... Posted: 21 Dec 2020 03:08 PM PST Just looking for clarification on how the mergers work. I have purchased content on two battle.net accounts. One has the commander Abathur and the other one has 4 commanders and the campaign. If I merge them will I still have all of the commanders (but reset levels)? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Dec 2020 08:49 AM PST Hey guys, I want to play SC/SC2 and I know the SC2 scene is very nice ( I have been watching pro lately ), but I do not know anything about SC1. Tbf I care if in EU the queues for a game wouldn't be >30mins or so. Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
