The best thing I ever got from SC2 was realizing I have anger issues. Posted: 30 Aug 2020 08:13 PM PDT Seriously. I fucking hate this game. I fucking hate the person it turns me into. Losing in this game feels shitty. Feeling like you're too fucking stupid to improve feels shitty. Dealing with fucking assholes sending DMs to taunt you after they win, even when you were polite in game, feels shitty. That being said, realizing that wanting to put my fist through the monitor, or having to do 12 intense rounds on the heavy bag, or wanting to throw my keyboard across the room, or taking all that anger around with me for hours afterward, was not "normal" was the best (only) good thing I got from SC2. I legit realized I needed help, anger-management help, and that the game flipping me out was just one symptom of a larger problem. Where can I watch the old Proleague streams and VODs? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:15 PM PDT As someone who missed out on the glory days of KeSPA and proleague before the downfall, I really want to watch these old tournaments but can't find any working archives of the events. (I've dug through all the liquipedia entries but came up empty) I've watched most of GSL Code S from 2016+ at this point. But I really want to see what all the hype was about from 2005-2016. Popular map maker seeking advice Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:03 PM PDT Hello, not sure how active this forum is, but I have a map making question and would love any advice. I'm a pretty popular map maker for the zombie mod community (about 50k plays on my maps) and I am working on my next map. It will give worker units (probes, scvs and drones) the ability to build different sized rocks within the landscape of the map in order to create walls and change the pathing of attacking zombies. I've created the buttons in each workers command card, attached them properly to each kind of rock I'd like to give each player the ability to make. However when I test the map, click the button and even see the proper preview of the rock the worker should be able to build, every or anywhere I move the rock in order to place it, I am denied with the error message "can't find placement location". I would have changed this about the WOL ending Posted: 30 Aug 2020 09:11 PM PDT Specifically, I was not very satisfied with Tychus' death. I was okay with him dying, but I felt him dying while trying to kill Kerrigan in exchange for his freedom was a little too one-dimensional. Someone like him, who was serving a life sentence for "murder, piracy, treason," could have had a better character arc. The way I would have done it is even though he knows the Dominion will kill him via his suit, he defies them anyways. The other Dominion marines/ghosts are ready to kill Kerrigan on Mengsk' orders, but Tychus sacrifices himself to save Kerrigan and Raynor and therefore the galaxy. Once a criminal, he now gives up his life for something he views as greater than himself. Perhaps he could have have explained it like "I'll never do anything for that bastard Mengsk who locked me up." It would also be consistent with how much he hated Mengsk and the fight he had with Raynor over him "working with the Dominion." Otherwise, that fight scene didn't make much sense, since if the Raiders were working with the Dominion it would have been easier for him to kill Kerrigan and earn his freedom. I just started playing SC2, and I want to express my feelings. Posted: 30 Aug 2020 08:41 AM PDT Hye everyone, thank you for your time reading this. I have just started playing this game for a week, 2hours everyday. And this post is just to express my feelings about playing this game. A lil background, I've played SC and RTS when I was a kid and I remember that I played just vs AI. During that time, all I was thinking just building massive amount of army and I just used cheatcode when I cant beat the AI. 20 years later, I recently getting bored at playing MOBA and I would like to give SC2 a try. During my lunch break, I will watch YT video of how pro players play and watch some channels guiding how to play a strat, so that I got the idea of what to do in my actual game. Later that night, I will play atleast 4 AI games and then que for unranked match 2v2. And here's what I wouls like to complain. I do not know how is the rank system works but I believe my score is just 170 bronze I guess? But I dont mind bout it. What I do mind is that every single night, I will face a much higher rank oppo, something like 5-6k bronze. I got smashed even before I build a second base. It's a bit unfair I guess, but I dont blame the oppo since I live in SEA and the nearest region available is Taiwan and S.Korea, and I know my oppo are better at the games compared to me. I mean, I was getting cursed for not rushing Starport. Idk. Maybe I'm not good at this game.
