I just want to say I LOVED all the extra content from Nation Wars, appreciate for the effort! Posted: 09 Dec 2019 11:14 AM PST The team videos were sick, reminded me of the WCS shorts. The interviews were hilarious, brought out a lot of the player personalities. The Baneling Quizz was amazing, reminds me of GSL Off the Record, I'd love to see more episodes if they can manage it in person or through webcams. The lastly the set was really conducive to seeing the team interactions such as Stats trolling everyone. Wonderful job, made an SC2 Tournament that much more special. Posted: 09 Dec 2019 02:46 PM PST https://drop.sc/replay/12568367 At the 5 minute mark, he randomly moves his marines into the fog of war to catch my reaper/hellion out of position. At 5:30 he randomly moves his entire army to the 9oclock base on Ephemeron to intercept my raven. At 6:00 he does the same thing on the other side of the map and arbitrarily stims and attacks BEFORE THE RAVEN ENTERS OUT OF HIS FOG OF WAR [link] [comments]

Zerg Being OP is the Lesser of Evils Posted: 09 Dec 2019 11:51 PM PST Let me state my controversial opinion by explaining what I mean. First of all I know that at the extreme top level, zerg is indeed too strong by a meaningful margin. It deserves to be nerfed. I'm not denying any of that. My actual point is --- the way zerg is OP now is not too bad(magnitude is another matter) --- the power of zerg in the hands of the likes of Serral are shown through macro games and ultra late game spell caster control. If you're a player, this means that the OPness of zerg cannot really be harvested by normal ladder players(or even 2nd tier pros for that matter) and average players can play the game just fine without being affected much. If you're a spectator, you can clearly appreciate the insane amount of skill that those top players have, even if it does get stale after a while. Compare this to the way that protoss is typically OP just as an example --- usually through strong timing attacks or mainly brute force deathballs(as opposed to positional/spell casting deathballs). Those are much easier to replicate and will ravage your ladder if you're a player. And if you think watching macro games and vipers/infestors over and over is boring as a spectator, then spending the same amount of timing to watching immortal all ins and carriers would get stale even faster. To understand this easier, ask yourself ---- if starcraft stops receiving patches forever today, would you rather the strongest strategies be macro games and spell casters? Or timing attacks and capital ships? For me, the answer is clear. And that's what I mean by saying zerg being OP is the lesser of evils now --- at the very least this OPness is limited to only the very best players and showcases skill, as opposed to potentially ruining ladder and being even lamer to watch, that other forms of OPness might introduce. I'm sure I'll get alot of flak for this. But do leave your opinion and reasons. I'm more curious than anything else. What do you think of my statement and why? What would you want to be the OP way to play the game, if something has to be OP(and often, something has to be at least a little OP since nothing has ever been perfect in the real world)? New player and I'm trying to just work on macro, but I keep getting rushed. What should I do? Posted: 09 Dec 2019 05:40 PM PST First let me just say, I understand that rushing seems to be a very viable strategy and there are ways to counter it. But I'm just not sure how or not sure what I should really be focusing on. I've watched quite a few new player guides and they all say I should just focus on macro, and not worry too much about microing my army, harassing etc. etc. So I've been playing a lot of bot and a few unranked games where I just try and get to 200 supply as fast and efficiently as possible. It's not too difficult in AI games playing on hard/very hard, sometimes I'll still lose but I still get ok times at around 9-11 minutes depending on the enemy race (I play as Protoss) and watch the replays to see where I could've been more efficient or done something differently. But against actual players good lord. I just get rushed or proxied in about 80% of the games I've played and have no idea what I should be doing. Anyone have any advice or know a good streamer/youtuber to watch for advice. A lot of the guides I've found are all players that have good information, but it seems to be info/advice for players who already understand the game a lot more. It's like a NFL coach trying giving advice to JV high school players. Good advice, just not sure how to really apply it. Edit- For anyone wondering I've been playing for about a week now, and outside of messing around in custom games/campaign in WC3 this is my first RTS game. [link] [comments]
Ultralisk Patch, how come it is only in Co-op? Posted: 09 Dec 2019 09:41 PM PST There is a patch that allows them to walk over Lings and Banes but only in Co-op. So why not in MP? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Dec 2019 09:46 AM PST So I have watched lots of videos from Starcraft and honestly it looks like a ton of fun. I just wanted to know if it's too late to get started because it seems like it is. [link] [comments]
