    The oracle ruins my day

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 10:07 AM PST

    Hello friends,

Everyday I wake up looking forward to playing 10 hours of StarCraft. I'll eat breakfast, brush my teeth and then start up my pc.

I'll play 2 or 3 warm up games with terran, rage a bit about tvp being dumb and then I switch my race to protoss: the day can truly begin now.

My first opponent is a protoss on eternal empire. I proxy a robotics facility make some immortals and collect my 6 MMR .

Second game is on Zen Vs zerg opponent. I send two adepts across the map, kill a couple of ling's. He miss rallies one of his queen's and my adept sneak by and get 5 workers. I quickly shade out and walk home a happy man. My first oracle hits the field and flies into his main base which has no spore yet. I feel the feeling of pure euphoria hit me as I target down 4 workers and fly away with only shield damage. At this point my 2nd oracle and phoenix are finished, I go in for an orgasmic play. I lift the only queen at the third and fly in with my 2 oracles. I have never been more ready to kill those juicy drones, but as I fly in and try to target the drones my oracles seem unable to target them. They keep flying in heart shapes over his spore every single time after I kill a drone. Something that should have been so beautiful ends up with only 4 drone kills and a lost oracle. I feel myself deflate, I have never been so sad. I do my follow up immortal allinb and easily destroy my zerg opponent. I should be happy , but I'm not. If my oracles weren't brain-dead I would have gotten 15 kills with them and have an even easier win.

I turn off my pc, punch the wall and scream at my neighbour. My day has been ruined.

If you want to stop my and other protosses days from being ruined, act now. Post on the battle.net forums to fix the oracle movement, send angry tweets to David Kim or just flame your zerg opponents till you get blocked.

Anything to get this dumb ass movement back to normal.

    Thanks for your time.

When will they bring Proleague back ?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 07:34 PM PST

Starcraft 2 needs to bring Proleague back. It was really the tournament that made me fall in love with Starcraft 2. Watching cool snipe builds, rivalries, ace matches, funny winning ceremonies, all - kill format in play offs - it was such a joy to experience. Can someone bring Proleague back please? I miss it more than anything.

Transitioning Into Ranged Liberators with Bio.

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 03:43 PM PST

I'd like to start this post simply by saying that I do not claim to know much about this topic, or even a sufficient amount to be making a post about it. That being said, I want to spark a discussion of sorts on this topic in order to learn and help others.

In my experience, transitioning into Ranged Liberators is a very difficult and complex feat, so I'll try to break it up into the different matchups. Let's start with TvT. What I have found is that a transition into RL (Ranged Liberators) is quite unnecessary, and frankly, detrimental to your chances in the game.

Moving onto TvP, RL are very helpful to anyone trying to win with bio past the 15 or so minute mark. This being said, adding them to your composition can be very difficult, and really is only easy if you're incredibly far ahead. Before I go any further, the change to put Advanced Ballistics (the RL upgrade) on the fusion core is incredibly helpful. Through my however many games of TvP, I have found that the most efficient and effective way to transition is to do the following.
1 - Prioritize your bio over RL. While you will find more value with the RL, you need an army to hold you over until you get there as well as an army to be supported by the RL. In many cases, I find myself investing too much into RL and ending up getting rolled over by a simple a-move simply because my bio ball is too small. 2 - Once your economy is large enough to support the investment of RL and more starports, use the first few liberators to buy time. This is to say that you shouldn't add them to your main army yet, and rather harass with them until you feel like you have a sufficient number to take a real fight. 3 - Lastly, once you have the numbers and upgrades to fight, you want to do two (main) things. The first is to continue liberator harassment. It takes minimal APM, and can catch your opponent way off guard especially if you have a frontal assault. Second, if you have a sustained push, you want to expand like a madman. At least at my level, players tend to put all heir focus into defending, and you can get 1-3 bases up with minimal investment.

All three of these point apply heavily to TvZ, however, I have found that counter-attacks are more commong with Zerg than with Protoss. That being said, point three-part two is a little harder to pull off.

That is what I have to say, I would love to have a discussion with other players and hopefully learn something. Feel free to correct me or provide more detail if need be.

Guns and Roaches are looking for more players!

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 02:02 PM PST

    Hello r/Starcraft,

The Chobo Team League (CTL) is currently on its way to its 23rd Season, and Guns and Roaches are looking for more people to add to its family. I've found my greatest improvement in this clan and I've created long-lasting friendships, I personally have been in Guns and Roaches since 2013.

Guns and Roaches have been around since 2012 and have been a participant in the Chobo Team League since it's inception. In GnR you'll find a lot of passion, a handful of memes, and many people to practice with. Our biggest issue, as with all SC2 Clans, is that our lower league players get promoted quickly. We are seriously under-represented in our Diamond league and that's what brings me here. If you're looking to improve or looking to take the first step into the competitive environment, you're in the right thread. We provide low and mid-level coaching, enough to pull you into Diamond and give you the tools and contacts you need to succeed further. Aside from our participation in the Chobo Team League we also participate in All-in The Nydus and the Validity Team League.

Currently we need active Diamond players the most, however we welcome players of all ranks.

All-in The Nydus is a two diamond, two master all-kill league designed to foster a competitive environment for amateur Starcraft 2 teams. Each week team captains meet up to schedule their own matches, all of the matches are in All-kill format using 2 diamonds and 2 masters level players, with a predetermined starting map.

Validity Team Leauge, formerly known as Validity Star League, is a team league aimed at the lower league players, allowing Platinum and Diamond league players to compete. This league also operates in an All-kill format where captains schedule their matches and play on a predetermined starting map.

Outside of participating in these team leagues Guns and Roaches run internal challenges, events, and tournaments, including an in-house pizza tournament, our annual cactus cup, and ladder incentives.

A cursory analysis of TvZ Mech games from HomeStory Cup XX

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 07:48 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

I threw this together because I was curious about trends in the BO of meching Terrans in TvZ. Noticed some interesting stuff.

21/24 mech games opened with a BC variant.

12 mech games opened with a 1/1/1 -> BC before 3rd CC variant.

7 mech games opened with a 3CC -> BC variant.

An interesting breakdown is notable in the opening by map breakdown. Looks like no one wanted to use the 3CC -> BC variant on Ephemeron for example.

I wouldn't put too much stock into many of these numbers, due to the very small sample size, but I thought it was an interesting exercise and may provide for a way to look for deeper trends if we had a larger dataset and perhaps a way to automatically parse the replays. I imagine something like the tools used by sc2replaystats and spawningtool combined with some data analytics tools may help us see interesting trends.

I will also note that I hope to add some breakdowns for the win loss percentages which also take into account some measure of skill disparity, perhaps the MU specific rating of each player. Not sure how to approach this yet, and would love any advice.

The purpose of listing when the production facilities are commenced is to help me identify when folks delay various production building blocks. The idea is that this might suggest either something went wrong, or another anomolous situation. This can then be used to see if there are common tactics or plays from Zerg that leads Terrans to have to delay facilities and who was able to minimize the delay the most and how.

If anyone else is interested in this sort of stuff let me know! I'd love to see if we can get a sabermetrics equivalent for sc2 going.

Which profile will skins go to?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:13 PM PST

I assume from a server merger or something I have two profiles when I launch SC2. One has a fresh start basically with stats and after not playing for 6 years I'd like to use that one. I don't see where I can buy the Zerg skin bundle that's discounted within the client itself, but I can on the Battlenet shop. If I bought it on the shop, without being in the client on the secondary profile, I'm afraid it's go to the first account and not the second. Anyone here have a clue about this interaction?

A second solution is I could just start a new account and buy the skins there, but I really wanted fresh stats is all, so I had a clue of my matches played etc.
