Small StarCraft community asking for your help.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:06 PM PST

Hi guys, I'm part of a small StarCraft community located in Guatemala (is a country just below Mexico). Right now we're participating in a contest to win some cool prizes and we manage to get to the semifinals against the counter strike community, if we advance to the finals we are guaranteed to win a couple of headsets and a pc case. This may seem like not a lot but for us it would be awesome since we are gonna be able to give them as prizes for local tournaments. The contest is in Facebook, and the steps for you to support us would be:

    1. Like this page for the vote to count https://www.facebook.com/aquitodossomosgamers

    2. React with a heart ❤ in this post https://www.facebook.com/aquitodossomosgamers/photos/a.128444021170504/674782883203279/

Thank you to everyone that gives us your vote.

    Is every race amazing ?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 07:20 AM PST

Whenever I go through the "everything___" subs, it's mostly about how good the opposing race's units are.

So with this logic, does this mean that every race is amazing with its own tools and abilities... Or does this only apply when you're fighting AGAINST the race?

    Sorry, new here, thanks

    Possible Map Hacking?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 05:12 PM PST

    Hey fellas, good evening.

I'm scratching my brain off of this one.. Usually I don't get mad about this stuff, but in this guy's case, just faced him 3 times in a row, and in these 3 times he blind countered me without scouting a thing.
And when I say this, he even has the luxury to send his overlords to the back of his base, giving him 0 map vision. Also, he goes to see my base in the FoW a few times.

Is it me, or is this guy surely cheating?

Can someone check this with me please?

    Direct Strike Statistics - sc2dsstats

    Direct Strike Statistics - sc2dsstats

The annual summary of the statistics collected for the custom map Direct Strike created by Tya.

Direct Strike got a significant update to version 2.60 on June 28. - all charts are for this version with >10k (170k total) games in the database (3v3 - commanders).

    Winrate

Top three commanders are Alarak, Karax and Swann - followed by the latest commander Mengsk and Dehaka.

Alaraks Vanguards got buffed so with the strong early game with Slayers and Alarak as one man front line and decent late game with Mamaships and Wrathwalkers, now he has a very good mid game, too.

Worst commanders are Raynor, Nova and Stukov. While most commanders got buffed in Patch 2.60, these commanders didn't get that much.

Raynors strength is the Hyperion but it is very expensive and most of the time the game is already over before it can come into effect.

    Duration

The strongest late game commanders are Tychus, Kerrigan and Zagara.

    Commanders

Most played commander is the latest: Mengsk - so yes, it is worth to add new content ;)

Synergy: Winrate with the other commanders in the same team

The latest commander, Mengsk, is well armed and has no significant ups and downs with certain teammates (except for the top tier commanders).

Thank you to everyone who uploaded their anonymized replay-stats that made this project possible!

splitting probes at the beginning of the game allows over half a worker lead by the first pylon!

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 04:45 PM PST

I imagine this is relevant to all races.

I assumed that this wouldn't matter... but I was watching a replay and noticed my opponent was ahead of my by 5 probes by the 2 minute mark.

I didn't think i stopped making probes, but i was certain i forgot at some point... however i did not expect that my opponent was ahead of me by a probe after starting the first pylon.

I noticed that he didn't hold on probes to make the gateway... i've been doing this for half a decade, I've always had to hold on the probe to make the probe as fast as possible.

So I checked the mineral counts and my opponent was 40 minerals ahead of me, before the first minute mark... I thought that's sorta crazy, did my opponent pair probes at the beginning of the game? The answer was no. He split his probes at the beginning of the game.

All this to say, you can get an extra worker worth of resources in the first minute, if you split your probes at the start of the game... maybe you could get even more if you pair workers.

I'm dia 2/3, so this is a small thing, but it is substantial. I won the game, only because I got 2 adepts into their main, and they only had stalkers at my base and they insta-gg'd, but... that first probe gain, would lead to a lot of extra minerals.

I guess I gotta learn to split at the beginning of the game now! I wish i realized this earlier.

I wonder how putrid does it smell when a hive cluster... dies.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:32 PM PST

Let's imagine. Hives, spires, nests etc, and miles of creep-covered ground all rot away. The flesh of the Zerg buildings fall off, and the creep MELT away, leaving behind massive towering bony structures and vast puddles of rotting liquified Zerg tissues.

    Ughh...

    .

    .

Then again, given that Zergs have immense regenerative power, how can they "truly" die?
