Starcraft Co-Op Mutation #215: Train of the Dead

Co-Op Mutation #215: Train of the Dead

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 07:35 AM PDT

The infested terrans on Tarsonis are everywhere. They're in the ground. They're on the trains. Before long, they'll be in your base. And you may never see them coming.

    Map: Oblivion Express

    Walking Infested
Enemy units spawn Infested Terran upon death in numbers according to the unit's life.
    Outbreak
Enemy Infested Terrans spawn continuously around the map.
    Darkness
Previously explored areas remain blacked out on the minimap while outside of player vision.

    Rating: Brutal +2

    Video Replays on Brutal:

    Player 1                                   Player 2
    [CtG (Zeratul)] [Hunter (Karax)]
    [Sintharius (Nova)] Aznhopeful (Stetmann)
    [CtG (Swann)] [Hunter (Zagara)]
    [CtG (Kerrigan)] [Hunter (Stukov)]
    [CtG (Tychus)] [Hunter (Vorazun)]

    Notes:

    • This is the second repeat of Train of the Dead.
    • The train and enemy waves are not revealed on the map, however you do get to see the part of the tracks that you have vision on.
    • Infested spawn from the buildings continuously. Aberrations start spawning at 20 mins.
    • Destroying all buildings will prevent the infested from spawning.
    • The attack waves and trains are not marked on the minimap until you have vision of them, or the tracks where the trains go through.
    • The trains spawn a lot of infested.

Hey! This is a repost of my previous thread (messed up the discord link, is now fixed).

Been GM sense WOL, send me your replays and I will give you some tips/tricks beyond Vibes bronze to GM series. Love Vibe, but there are some critical things left out, and understandably so.

If anyone is interested in this, I am going to create a discord group, time to help the underdogs.

    https://discord.gg/MFTg5C5

Will also be providing 1 on 1 and group coaching one or two times per week (will set a schedule for this in the discord), this schedule will evolve as time goes on. At first I will pick replays, that I think have particular, and clear areas of improvement to do one in one coaching.

Not much of an achievement since its 2v2 but it feels good to have your ally leave early and flame you for you to win 3 minutes later.

    Low level sc2 show matches

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 11:36 AM PDT

Hello the good people of sc2, I have recently been teaching some of my friends to play sc2 and I came to the realisation that low level games are a lot of fun and have some very interesting entertaining moments. After further training I would like to observe and cast some of my friends playing each other in a show match . Would anyone be interested in watching a very different level of sc2 to what we as a community are used to?

update: I would also be looking to include other players I do not know for future streams. So if any low level players (bronze-plat) would like to play in future show matches please message me on here if that is possible. (I am new to Reddit) I would also like if any future players could send me some replays as this will allow me to get to know the players before casting them.

I could spend some time going over the replay and I could perhaps give some tips to the players as well before the games( I am a master league player myself)

Please let me know your thoughts?

Why is Terran the only race fixated on the idea that it must be two races in one?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 04:17 PM PDT

As of late, I am curious as to why Terran has a need to have two different play style (bio vs mech) be equally viable in all different match ups? Essentially it is like balancing two different races. For zergs or Protoss this strong distinction doesn't exist which is why you're more or less free to switch around your tech tree as per the situation demands, but for Terran it seems that you generally have to maneuver your composition after deciding if you're either on the bio or on the mech camp. I also might be wrong in my next claim but I feel like the need to choose camps result in Terran being the only race with their T1 unit forming the bulk of their late game since (unless one goes for pure BC fleet).

The only answer I came up with is because of how the upgrades are divided. Zergs and Protoss have an upgrade divide for ground comp vs air comp. Of course I could be completely wrong on this so I'd love to hear your thoughts (and not devolve this into a balance whine).
