    No matter what happens next, the ending to this GSL Season will be legendary!

    Posted: 25 May 2020 01:37 PM PDT

    Spoiler alert, obviously, for anyone who hasn't reached the Ro4 of Code S yet, feel free to skip until you do

    Any of our final four players raising the trophy would be incredibly special and not just because 3/4 of them haven't ever done it before:

    • INnoVation has been in four Finals already and won 3 of them, winning now would tie him with Maru for most Code S Championships ever & heading into the following Seasons we might finally have someone lift the coveted G5L trophy with all 5 parts of Exodia being universally accepted;

    • Cure has been grinding this game for so long with barely any offline success it's unreal; the tenacity and perseverance you need to keep fighting your way back through murders' row is insane and looking at this final bracket it would truly be an epic finish to a tremendous Season for the former Jin Air Terran and possibly the start of a new chapter in his career;

    • TY has two Silver medals here alone, one of which came at the hands of Maru no less in a G7 that finished in inconceivable fashion, so of course it makes sense another TvT - likely against another of the greats - would be his final test to this monumental achievement for the caster/player hybrid extraordinaire. It's been way too long since the biggest Terran brain in modern sc2 has lifted a trophy of this caliber, so why not now?

    • PartinG is universally beloved for his personality alone, the fact his play is worth talking about again so many years after his peak - and even honestly starting the chapter on what looks like a next level even for him - is already the stuff of fairy tales, overcoming all the best Terran players during Terran Season when every Protoss in particular is getting smashed would easily be one the greatest Code S runs of all time;

    Tune in on Wednesday and Saturday for the Semifinals this week, if you want an exact timer you can see it here when you click the info button for each match.

    P.S.

    Side note: wanted to make a point, that you can be excited for something without having to embellish or literally make things up along the way, cheers! :)

    Check out Liquipedia's new tournament viewing overlay

    Posted: 25 May 2020 11:22 AM PDT

    The good people over at Liquipedia have built a whole new overlay for watching tournament games via their site. It gives more information on each player playing, including things like their head to head and personal winrate stats. It's really cool and if you'd like to see it in action, try watching some ESL Open Cup EU (on going at time of posting).

    The new overlay is implemented for all matches that have a schedule and stream announced beforehand. Supported streams can be found on https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Special:Stream and accessed from there or by clicking on the Twitch icon for each match in "Upcoming matches" on the StarCraft II Liquipedia main page.

    Thanks to /u/hjalpha for the info on this and trev/rapture for implementation.

    Anyway, thought this was cool and you guys might want to know. Have a great week everybody!

    How do I get value out of scouting?

    Posted: 25 May 2020 11:49 AM PDT

    Basically I've returned to sc2 and I know the basics, but Im only starting to get into this intermediate stuff (I'm level 34 Terran and I don't understand many things) basically, how do I get information out of scouting? What does it mean if my opponent went for a twilight council instead of a cybernetics core? What does it mean if he made an early/late expansion?

    Build plan for Vibe's bronze to gm?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:49 AM PDT

    New player here and I follow Vibe's brinze to gm series at the moment (protoss) and I'm still in bronze at the moment. But I still have the problem that I sometimes don't know what to do anymore or I forget something, for example I forget sometimes to build tech buildings. I saw that there are build plans for other builds who tell you what to build when. I found some for his series in 2018 (?), but is there also something for Vibe's series in 2019/2020?

    Spectator mode

    Posted: 25 May 2020 11:31 PM PDT

    Hey guys,i'm a bit out of the loop. I started getting back into the game recently. I remember there beeing a spectator mode to watch ladder games of friends. Did Blizzard get rid of it or am I too dumb to find it?

    Would love to add this mechanic to the game.

    If you lose 100 mmr (without gaining any) sc2 should ask if you'd like to complete the tutorial again for "achievements", as like a meme thing.

    Please don't hate this post if you were expecting something serious. I'm not here to complain. Also it's tagged fluff, so...
