    Starcraft Wife needs Starcraft Advice!

    Posted: 24 May 2020 12:29 PM PDT

This post isn't related to playing Starcraft as such so feel free to delete. My husband plays Starcraft and I am 6 months pregnant with his baby girl. In June it will be Fathers Day and I wanted to surprise him with a Daddy/Daughter gift. It would be awesome if it could be gaming related but I have no idea. Maybe matching t-shirts or something for them. Is there Starcraft merchandise for babies??? Any advice would make a Starcraft daddy to be very happy...

Does anyone else struggle to play games because you can see all of your mistakes as they happen?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 10:37 PM PDT

I quit playing SC2 awhile back primarily because once I got close to masters the game became tiring to play. I play videogames to relax and SC2 just wasn't relaxing anymore. But SC2 is still my #1 favorite game of all time so I still watched gsl, wcs, dreamhack, IEM, etc. Now as I'm trying to get back into it (watching gsl hyped me up) I find I'm not afraid of losing, or dropping ladder points at all. But its painful to watch my own mistakes. Half the time I can see my mistakes as I play. And when I don't I notice them soon after the fact. I can almost always pinpoint the mistakes I made as I lose. And if I can't I watch the replay.

But its so disheartening. I make so many in every game that I struggle to want to keep playing, despite enjoying the game as I play. I've never understood a game well enough to readily identify what I was doing wrong most of the time. Just curious if anyone else struggles jumping on and playing games for the same reason. And maybe how you overcame it.

How do I create a private multiplayer match for a friend and I?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 08:59 PM PDT

We have each other added on Starcraft and we're on the same server (U.S. East, if that makes a difference) but I can't find any private games he created and he can't find any private games that I create.

Sorry for a noob post, but I have no idea where else to ask, and I haven't found any answers on Google or YouTube.

Is there a rank/mmr requirement to participate in the ESL Weekly tournament?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 05:55 PM PDT

And if not, would it be BM to join if I have no chance of winning? I'm diamond so it's not like I would be a challenge and it would absolutely be a 2-0 bop, but it would be fun to have a chance of getting bopped by some of my favorite players. How would you feel if you went vs someone 2-3k mmr below you?

Returning to starcraft after not laddering since early HoTS! Few Protoss questions! :)

    Posted: 24 May 2020 11:56 PM PDT

SO first question, is there literally any reason to build carriers anymore? They seem incredibly underwehelming now against zerg and terran, especially even more so since it seems catapult was removed.

Does protoss have a viable answer to terran liberators once they start piling up in #s? Seems once they're sieged, they just absolutely shred everything

Seems colo also got really nerfed, and tickle anything that isn't a light unit now. Colo seem like a much more expensive and risky investment considering their cost is still the same. Would you say they're still worth building?

Are adepts ever seen in the mid-late game or do they just have reaper syndrome as well?

Are tempests ever built, or do they still suffer terrible cost effectiveness?

Lurkers are really, REALLY good units. 9 range, and insane damage vs protoss (considering most toss units are armored) does toss really have any direct answer to lurker hydra combos besides "Don't let them siege"? Immortals seem like an obvious answer but hydras shred immortals and outDPS all gateway units as well. Is storm + positioning really the only thing toss can do against this?

    THank you :)

Starcraft Content Poll (WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE?)

    Posted: 24 May 2020 12:18 PM PDT

TLDR: I am Starcraft Fan/Player and Smash Bros Melee Content Creator and I want to create content for Starcraft 2. I would like to know what this community would like to see!

    Hello!

My name is Mohamed, also known as "Blast". I am a Starcraft player/fanatic from Florida. I have been playing and watching Starcraft 2 since 2010 and would love to support the scene in any way that I can by following, donating and subscribing to streamers and tournament organizers. Now that I am more experienced in the field of videography, I want to take it to the next level!

I am a Videographer/Photographer/Video Editor and I have been curating esports content for Super Smash Bro's Melee for a little over a year, and have sponsored a few Smash players in FL through my media company, Spiral Cafe. Here is some of my current esports content:

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsLkwm07ESNroU9f5PzfSKw?view_as=subscriber

I want to bridge my love for Starcraft 2 and videography to make content anyone can connect with. With great curiosity, I ask the subreddit community what you would be interesting in watching! Are you interested in tournament highlights, interviews, meme content, recap videos, streamer reels or all of the above?! Please write your feedback in the comments.

P.S. if you are a streamer and want a video editor to help create videos, I would love to work with you :)

Everyone has a chance to win the first GSL title ever except Innovation

Sorry that I couldn't find latest image of Innovation facing on the right side. I just cropped his old photo way back in 2017 (Thanks for correcting my mistake).

Since the GSL semifinal is just around the corner, just want to point out some interesting "trivia" if one of them will be crowned:

Innovation / Bogus /"The Machine" : This will be his fifth GSL official title, thus he will make a history as the first Sc2 professional player ever to win GSL title more than four times back-to-backs in different span of time.

Parting/ Big Boys : This will be first GSL title ever, doing so after a long career break. He is the 3rd player to win GSL Code S title after being crowned as a WCS Global's champion. (Zest and Rogue were the 1st and 2nd person to do so respectively.)

TY / Cure : This will be their first GSL title ever. Cure never won any championship title, so the title will put him as another contender for The fifth of "Four Horsemen of Terran" competing with Guminho while TY will cement himself as a true holder of "Four Horsemen of Terran" if he win the title.

What was the best OSL/MSL/GSL grand finals ever?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 02:59 PM PDT

I just watched Day9 talk about Savior vs Bisu at the 2007 MSL finals, and it made me rewatch the games. It was of course awesome and brought back a huge wave of nostalgia!

I still think JulyZerg's triple drone drill vs Best at the 2008 OSL was even more shocking, and FireBatHero's celebration on the beach in Busan is of course legendary.

Which finals do you think was the best ever?
