    The Miserable Cup

    Good evening r/starcraft!

    I am here to announce the first ever "Miserable Cup"!

    This event is a 16 player Invitational tournament featuring some of North America's best professional players and Grand Master ladder heroes!

    ​

    The tournament will be played in a GSL style format spanning 5 days with 1 group being played each day and ending with Championship Sunday which includes a $1000 USD prize pool!

    ​

    Tournament action begins Wednesday June 17th 11am EDT and continues through the next 5 days at 11 AM EDT each day, concluding with Championship Sunday.

    ​

    This is a community I love and an e-sport I am passionate about following. When I began planning this event a couple months ago it started as a small discussion among some friends as an idea to give back to the community and support our professional/semi professional scene while I was fortunate enough to still be employed. Since then it has grown into an event that I am very proud of and next week I have the opportunity to cast some excellent StarCraft 2 that I hope the entire community enjoys.

    I've just finished updating WOLPE with some really nice changes, most noticeably a difficulty choosing system and the ability to choose Spear of Adun abilities and unit variants for each mission!

    If you didn't play it before, now's your chance! If you did, you can challenge yourself by playing on Brutal difficulty or trying out some new crazy army compositions!

    Now for the request. Making these campaigns takes a huge amount of my time, so much so that I often find myself with no time for anything else. As I'm not sure if I can continue making maps at this rate, I decided to set up a Patreon page for those that would be willing to support me as I keep working on this.

    * General: the mission lobby now allows you to choose difficulty settings (Hard or Brutal), Spear of Adun abilities and unit variants.

    * General: removed Pylons in missions in which there was too much starting supply.

    * General: added Assimilators to the starting structures in some missions.

    * General: fixed a bug that caused Immortal's walking animation to become bugged in some missions.

    * General: fixed a bug that caused some terran units to receive double benefit from upgrades.

    * General: added a "danger threshold" to some timer windows so that they flash red when time is about to run out.

    * General: protoss music!

    * The Devil's Playground: fixed a bug that enabled SCVs to build a Factory.

    * Outbreak: added a Forge to the starting structures.

    * Outbreak: Infestors now shit solarite.

    * Belly of the Beast: heroes now have a corresponding F hotkey (F3, F4, F5, F6).

    * Belly of the Beast: fixed a bug that caused Karax to permanently lose his servitors (the flying thingies he uses to attack) after cinematics. Now they respawn shortly after being destroyed.

    * Cutthroat: you now get the Purifier's mercenary contract rather than Mira's.

    * All In: is now only one mission. You can choose which version to play (vs. Air or vs. Nydus Worms) in the lobby.

    * All In: Kerrigan can now use her abilities. Don't let her near your Mothership.

    * All In: the Energy Nova button is now protoss.

    Some extra comments

    * Some abilities cannot be chosen on certain missions for balancing reasons (E.g.: using either Orbital Strike or Solar Lance or Welcome to the jungle trivializes the mission as you can prevent altars from being sealed without ever leaving your base.)

    Sorry if this is the wrong sub, but as the title says: I was cleaning out the channels on twitch I follow, either where users' content has shifted and I don't care anymore, or old inactive channels.

    When suddenly iNcontroLTV pops up.

    I hadn't thought about him for a few months and it just hit me again that he'll never pop up going live and I'll never get to hear him trashing some idiot for asking a stupid question for the 15th time.

    Now I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes and slump in my throat. Over a man I barely even knew, but who meant so much for me.

    Nonetheless he remains in my follow list. I'm not ready to really say goodbye yet.

    Team GP Exposed

    I really did not want to be writing this, but as I am the CEO of an e-sports organization for more than 2 years, I feel like situations like these need to be exposed so that the players and others professionals that work in the scene can be more careful to not get into scams.

    I was hired to work like a manager and help the team to growth, they ignored the contract and didnt payed me.

    I love the new patch it's great we get all this awesome new content. But please for the love of god add in some sort of MMR decay I haven't played competitively in 6 months and my MMR is still at 5.6k. It is infuriating getting curb stomped by 5.3k players because there is no MMR decay and I will need to lose about ~30~ games in a row just to get to my actual MMR.

    0:02 I will show you the build I couldn't use on the Finals. I didn't have the opportunity to use this build because my scv kept getting caught in the middle.

    0:16 First you send your scv to the side of his main. Spotting his weak spot and securing space is the most important aspect. I couldn't use this build because Cure had the same idea. Even though the result was good, it was a shame. I will take on the stress I took towards my friend here. He is fucked because it is inevitable that this Finals build will work.

    0:56 You are in deep danger if you think if your opponent is going a regular proxy reaper. You will get knifed in the back.

    1:16 As soon as the barracks is finished, I will build my second refinery. The win rate of this build was pretty good. Every opponent was surprised after they got hit with this. This is a build that made Innovation astonished.

    1:32 I lift them. Opponent will be tricked into thinking I am going proxy reapers because my main base is wide open. He wouldn't be able to imagine a theme park is being built in his main base in his wildest dreams. There is no way he would notice this. This is my surprise special build. This is my present to you.

Not a reaper, not a marine, but a marauder… This place gave me goosebumps. First time seeing someone making a marauder in his main like this. He is managing this situation better than Innovation. Never seen someone defend this build this well.

    3:05 If my barracks were undetected I would have started attacking when I had 3 marauders. If they spot my barracks likes this… It's a bust. But it's okay. Turning over a game like this is a pro gamer's duty.

    3:35 Let's put pressure with these marauders and defend my base.

    4:16 This is a refreshing build but there are some holes in it. Even for Master level players, they have their own unique style even in building placements. They are sometimes unpredictable and go out of pros' common sense. That being said, this build could easily get spotted if used against amateurs.

    5:05 TvT is a raven match, so it is recommended to make 3 of them. Building a third CC while you push with your army along with 3 ravens is a standard concept in TvT. You can constantly make ravens with 3 gas.
