It's been a few months iNcontrols passing, but thank you Geoff. Posted: 19 Feb 2020 07:51 PM PST Geoffs passing was a wake up call to me. I went in for a check up soon after his passing. I found out I have high cholesterol and blood pressure at 28. Since then I've made a lot of improvements to my life and health. I watched a few of his videos tonight and I felt I should share. Thanks Geoff [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Feb 2020 04:51 PM PST Hello all, I'm a mid masters sc2 player who hadn't played brood war since I was little and recently I've been watching content Artosis produces. I didn't know if I would like it because I wasn't crazy about brood war but his stream is so hilarious and his videos are so engaging that I've marathoned most of it. I cannot recommend his content enough for anyone even remotely interested in starcraft. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Feb 2020 05:53 PM PST Just want to say my dad amazes me when it comes to support. Especially with StarCraft, ever since I was little we would play StarCraft together and watch MLG together and laugh at the fact we were both bronze noobs always in awe of the pros. Within the last year I came back to StarCraft and hit the grind like never before able to hit Masters for the first time, A dream come true, A dream I was happy to share with my Dad. My dad started playing again too and beat up the Vs. AI many times. It was some of the best parts of my day when my dad would tell me that he played a game or two to practice and every once in a while that he had moved up a rank (now vs the Elite AI). As he regulary plays with 40-60 APM I thought it would be hard for him to play against real people. However one day as I walked past his computer I checked his match history and saw that he had played 3 games vs real people. And I was even more amazed when I saw that he had beaten all three. As of now he has played around 15 games and has Gold 1 MMR POG! It made me so happy seeing my dad having fun improving at the game we both love. Just this morning he texted me saying he held a DT Rush. All the little moments we have had together with StarCraft, MLG Raleigh, Psistorm Cup 8, and getting to watch our favorite American Protoss Neeb crush the competition, these moments and many many more would mean a lot less to me without my amazing dad there to share it with and I'm glad he supports me and StarCraft! thanks for everything dad~ [link] [comments]

Is this really worth playing?? What keeps you motivated to play if you cannot progress anywhere? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 11:56 AM PST Hey guys/gals, maybe I'm salty from being repeatedly rushed, but I feel like if you haven't played this game for 5+ years, and you're slow as shit like me, there's no point in even trying anymore. I'm stuck in silver 2 lol. How can anyone get better if games don't last more than 5 mins ever? Either you are rushed so quickly you can't blink and just die, or the other player turtles and makes something which cannot be stopped. I feel at this point there's no point in playing anymore. I've tried to adapt and learn, but maybe I'm a slow learner ;) .. what keeps you motivated to keep trying? I find the game fun, but constantly losing and not getting better is discouraging... and de-motivating. I've watched my replays but don't have the knowledge to improve cause I don't know what I'm looking at haha. Watched vibeb's b2gm a bit, but that only gets you so far. Roast and motivate me! On a related note, if you've ever played me, sorry if I was a poor sport ;) [link] [comments]

IEM Katowice offline qualifiers on the 24th! Posted: 19 Feb 2020 03:41 AM PST So, the offline qualifiers for IEM Katowice will happen on the 24th (brackets), which is only five days from now! How hyped are you guys on a scale from 1 to größ Gabriel? Also, I'd like to hear your predictions (or hopes) for which 3 players qualify from each bracket (linked above). Feel free to provide any predictions for the overall tournament results as well. Here is poll for what kind of finals you guys would like to see, on which you may also elaborate on in the comments. Here is a poll for how you guys view the state of balance going into Katowice, just to entice ya'll into fighting about it because what would this sub be for without arguments about balance? For further incentive, feel free to elaborate on this too in the comments. That is all. For now. [link] [comments]
Are you satisfied with the current state of sc2? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 08:13 AM PST Why, why not? Explain: a) what you don't like and b) how can this game be better for you. [link] [comments]

PSA: Starcraft II streamers/content creators for learnings and pleasure Posted: 19 Feb 2020 06:26 AM PST I figured I could collect a whole bunch of our streamers/content creators into one post to help them get eyeballs and you guys find Starcraft II content that tickles you at just about any time. They're all in alphabetical order (approximately) and I've added the stream's main language in brackets where I've known it to be something other than English. Addrich (Spanish) AfreecaTV (Korean) Belair (German) CrankTV (Korean) DivinesiaTV (Finnish) Grizzly (Spanish) Horuss (Spanish) Indy (Polish) JimRising (Spanish) Maddox (Korean) Mage (Chinese) O'Gaming (French) RockletzTV (Portuguese) TakeTV (German) VicentiN (Portuguese) Zuka (French) If I've left anyone out that you think needs to be on here, leave a comment and I'll add them to the list. Hopefully this helps everybody in this community. Those that are regular viewers of any of those listed may also make the case for/familiarize the rest of us on their favourites down in the comments. This has been a PSA. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to disable the sounds zerg makes? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:18 PM PST I'm new to the game, and so I'm doing the advice given to me and playing 10 games of all 3 races. I've played Terran and Protoss so far, and the only one left is Zerg. Problem is, I can't seem to play Zerg with getting a little disturbed every time I hear one of the units make a squishy noise. I don't mind the aesthetic, but is there a way to turn off these noises, and keep the rest of the sound? Also, creep spread is a bitch, and Queens make the WORST sounds when you inject larvae. Useful websites for Starcraft 2 Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:55 AM PST Hey I though it would be a good idea to make a list of some useful links for SC2,even if you are a total noob or a veteran at this gamePost yours in the comment if you feel like something is missing Discussion spaces : https://tl.net/forum/?filter=starcraft2 If you want to debate about everything https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/sc2/c/general-discussion If you want to debate about everything and whine without any reason https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/ (obviously) Results/Players search tools : https://www.rankedftw.com/ Currently "down" due to API issues, but still very usefull if you want to check anyone's ranking and evolution. You can also find informations about all the clans, and some stats about the player population http://aligulac.com/ Here you can follow the recents pro results, and find specific informations such as : - http://aligulac.com/results/search/ - http://aligulac.com/inference/ - http://aligulac.com/misc/compare/ https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Special:RunQuery/Match_history A very recent one, it does almost the same thing as aligulac from what I've seen so far For a specific race : Terran : https://www.reddit.com/r/AllThingsTerran/ aka salt lake Zerg : https://www.reddit.com/r/allthingszerg/ aka salt lake but for no reason Protoss : https://www.reddit.com/r/allthingsprotoss/ For every races : https://lotv.spawningtool.com/ Others : https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page If you need to follow any tournament https://drop.sc/ You can upload your replays here https://sc2replaystats.com/ladder/index You need a replay from any player ? Search here if someone uploaded a replay implying this player https://app.zephyrus.gg/replays You can upload all your replays here and have stats about yourself from them. I didn't used it a lot so I don't know much about this one. [link] [comments]
