    Noob needs help improving in Starcraft 2

    Hey all. I used to play SC:BW back in the early 2000 but I was a kid back then so I wouldn't count that as an experience. A year ago I hopped into SC2 playing protoss and 2v2 ranked only and plateaued between Gold3/Plat1 and left the game for then next 11 months just to pick it up yesterday. I want to be a little bit more serious now but I'm a dad of 3 so I don't have much time for learning. I don't know any strats, I have not seen any replays, now I'm struggling to recognize some of the units. Would you be able to recommend some resources for me to learn Protoss and some strategies and how to counter units? Something that would be easy to go through for a noob and be suitable for my limited time and let me play somewhere around gold and platinum and not embarrass myself in front of my duo partner.     What's going on, I just picked up SC2 (I've followed the scene on and off very minimally for years) and I'm looking for any advice on how to learn (guides, streamers, youtubers etc) I come from Dota which I've played for the past 4 years so mechanically I'm pretty good but yeah just all the other stuff, and also if you can recommend any pro games or replays to watch that show the game being played at the top level that would be great.     With SC2 being F2P, GM Slots Should Be Allocated Per Person not Per Account/Race

    I know this is a minor issue, but it has kind of bugged me for awhile.

    Once SC2 went free to play and with race based MMR; the GM slots are filled up by multiple accounts from the same people.

    Now I know the activity requirement handles a lot of this, and the inactive accounts will be bumped out as they stop playing.

    However, it really should be treated as a personal title that rates someone as a Grand Master, not that they can get various races and accounts to that level.

    The easiest solution to this would be similar to how Overwatch handles GM accounts, in that each GM account needs to be authenticated (through a phone number).

    We would end up with the top 200 players in a region being accurately represented, not the top 200 accounts.

    This would have no other effect on the competitive balance on the ladder as we now show mmr on the loading screen. And in fact would have no effect on mmr of the unauthenticated accounts; they just wouldnt show up in the GM list.

    It would also allow the pro's who have burner accounts to stop having to leave league.

    It is just a small quality of life change that would give people a clearer goal and be fairer overall.

    Everyone here is posting their achievements and it's great, nothing wrong with that (myself included), but I think maybe they don't realize what it took.

    Protoss here.

    Yesterday I had one of the worst days on Starcraft. I went 2/9. I stopped playing by then. I was a third into diamond 3 and fell down back to plat 2. Today I hope to at least get into mid plat 1 again(probably not gonna happen) But I thought "this probably happens to everyone at some point" and even diamond 3 to diamond 2 is a huge jump in skill level and games. Same with 2 and 1.

    ViBE or Winter make it seem easy, but it's because they probably lost or watched replays of more games than most of us have played, (I played about 600 in total, Showtime has like 12k) and they don't have the ladder anxiety most of us do, because they know exactly how to respond in 99% of situations, and they make it seem so easy.

    I'm thinking now, should I just focus on my basics (constant probes etc) and just don't worry about builds? Or should I learn builds and try and execute them, while also trying to do the basics? I have trouble multitasking and controlling my army, especially with disruptors and HT or tempests. My winrate against Terran right now is laughable.

    I don't know if I'll be the only one who understands what in Jeebus's name I just wrote here, but oh well.
