    Good evening you Mad Lads. I grew up playing Starcraft, and well... I loved it! I always played at my best friends house so I never owned the game. This was a huge set back because on year my family and I moved away, and I moved away from Starcaft.

    Now during this pandemic I've been spending a ton of time online, and playing games with my little brothers. (I am home from college because of COVID) This reminded me of how much fun I had growing up and playing the original SC. So just yesterday I looked the game up and to my surprise and overwhelming joy SC is FREE?!?!

    I couldn't help myself I HAD to download it it. Being a active redditor, the first thing I did after grinding through some of the campaign was to see if there was a community of SC player. Yet again I was stunned, over 250K of you guys! That's crazy, I had no idea this community existed.

    I am so happy to be getting back into a game I hold so dear. I just have a few questions for you lads, if you dont mind helping out a rook how is eager to get really good.

    1. I know there is no substitute for playing the game but is there a YT channel (ect.) Yall recommend for beginners to watch?

    2. How do you look up/watch competitive E-Sports games?

    3. How do you even watch SC E-sports?

    4. How does ranking work?

    5. (Open Ended) Is there something I should know as I start out? What's something you wish you knew sooner?

    I cant wait to understand all the memes and become a bro around here. Thankyou all for your help, I hope to kick your asses shortly

    Anyone annoyed by Artanis as a character? Literally a flawless hero. There is no character arc. He has no moral dilemmas, no grey areas, nothing. He's just a pure hero. Not only is he morally perfect, but he is also a powerful warrior and wizard, an adept strategist, and respected by everyone and feared by his enemies. A morally perfect character would be forgiven, even, were it not for the fact that he's invincible and completely devoid of personality. Some stories take the approach of portraying morally righteous characters as putting duty before family and friends, for instance, which presents a major character development arc.

    Not Artanis, though. There is no development. He is just the embodiment of heroism start to finish, the only thing even remotely giving him personality is his fear that he's not a good enough leader, which is like ok bro, tell me more invincible paragon of virtue, and it wasn't developed much. Reeeee.

    Wings of Liberty: Terran Edition

    Hello again! I've just released Wings of Liberty: Terran Edition. It consists of the Zeratul missions from WoL, but this time you play as terran. It includes Armory and Lab upgrades, mercenaries and quotes from the campaign.

    If you've played WOLPE (I made a post here last week: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/g68v5u/wings_of_liberty_protoss_edition/ ), you know what to expect. If not, I encourage you to check out WOLPE as well.

    It's available to play on the arcade right now, even if you have the free version of SC2.

    Journey to Master day 1

    Hey everyone. Just started playing Starcraft 2 ladder. And my aim is to one day reach master and then hopefully grand master but I think the expectation of master is high enough for now 😂And I thought it'd be cool express what I'm experience in the everyday games what I'm struggling with. Hopefully to get some help and to try and help other and maybe some other people could join me on that journey.

    My main race is Zerg but I do intend on learning to play the other races.

    So on day one I played 9 games. 5 of which are me placement matches. At the moment my greatest struggle is 2 base bio Terran wish siege tanks. I just can't seem to smash them down. With Ling bane muta or Ling bane hydra. Other games or matchups I'm able to see what I do wrong.

    After my placement matches I got placed in silver 3 with and MMR of 2289. After a couple of games I managed to climb my way to silver 1 rank 7. I don't remember want MMR at the moment.

    Anyway this one was long cause it was. My first post. But expect regular updates. Hope some people can join me give advice and learn. Let me know how you everyone is going in their SC2 laddering.

    Is there something that can be done about a player who lost a bunch of games in a row to derank, and is now winning every game cause he is getting matched with lower players?
