    If you're a Terran going fast 3rd command center, How would you react to a warp prism dropping zealots on your undefended main base mineral line as you go to land your 3rd CC? Would you pull all of your SCV's from your main, and move all of your infantry from your 3rd base to help defend the warp prism? I know I would.

    If you answered "scan your opponent's 3rd base" in response to seeing this warp prism, you are a liar.... but that is exactly what Gabe does.

    Basically, Gabe is trying to understand if the warp prism in his main comes from a dedicated 2 base pressure (with mass gateways) or comes from a quick 3rd base with a smaller number of gateways (light pressure). To differentiate between the two different builds, he scans the 3rd base.

    Upon seeing that the Protoss' 3rd base is late, he knows that this is dedicated warp prism pressure that needs to do damage. So instead of moving ALL of his units from his 3rd base to defend the warp prism in his main, he defends the warp prism with his reinforcements and SCV pull.... because he knows that if he moves his whole army (from defending his 3rd base to his main base) that the Protoss' secondary force will pick off his siege tanks and force his 3rd base to lift.

    Instead he defends this dedicated pressure perfectly on both fronts losing maybe 4 SCV's, and keeps all of his tanks alive for his big 3 base push (which, combined with his economy advantage, wins him the game latter on).

    Let me pause during games.

    I recently have had newborn twins, and let me tell you it can be tough to find time to squeeze in games. I really appreciate all the people who have let me pause to soothe a crying baby over the past month. I am on the NA server and play mostly at night as I watch over the children.

    Only about 1 in 10 wont let me pause, I always ask. I really really appreciate everyone who has waited. It means a lot to me. I just wanted to thank you

    Quit 2 years ago, got back a week ago. After countless AI matches and watching youtube, I gave versus ranked a go. Got cheesed by a marine worker rush on my last game of placements. They asked me what toppings I liked on my sandwiches at the beginning... lol

    What are the counters to Swarm Hosts?

    So, the context for this is that I don't have a brain that's big enough to actually play Starcraft but I like to watch professional games. And I feel like every time I see Swarm Hosts come out, they're just this unstoppable force that the other player is forced to play around with no real option except to wait for the locusts to time out and then try to win a fight within that 20 second window where they can't be spawned again. They just seem absolutely overpowered to me, being able to both wipe ground armies and snipe bases from long range (especially combined with Nydus) and with minimal risk to the Swarm Hosts themselves. I feel like there's no unit in Terran or Protoss that has to be played around or has this high reward/low risk dynamic to it. It seems to me that as long as you have some good anti-air in the mix like Hydralisks or Corruptors, Swarm Hosts are one of the most ridiculous units in the game.

    However, like I said, I don't actually play the game so I figure I'm missing out on some nuance. Are they as overpowered as they seem to an observer like myself? Or are there highly viable strategies that are able to counter them?

    Why does BW have 3/4 player maps in the pro scene but not SC2?
