Do the co-op commanders actually get paid for doing missions, or are they just helping out because the universe hangs in the balance?

    Posted: 12 Nov 2019 11:06 PM PST

Aside from Oblivion Express which is a mission where the commanders are picking up someone else's contract on short notice so they have to get paid for it, I don't think they're getting money for doing missions. Most of the quest-givers don't seem like they're well-off enough to pay the commanders for doing things.

Stetmann flat-out says he doesn't have any money in Mist Opportunities and I don't think Morales or Deborah Greene of the Kel-Morian Mining Guild would be too concerned with payment of any kind considering how in those two missions the infested are everywhere and evacuations are going on, but maybe it isn't the quest givers that pay for missions, maybe the commanders get paid by the hour from the Dominion or something.

In the three main campaigns, Jim, Kerrigan and Artanis are all fighting for their lives and the consistently human one out of those three is a rebel-mercenary doing missions specifically for money, but in the co-op universe it's like everyone either put their services up for hire or threw in with the Dominion for protection against Amon and maybe they get paid by the hour like I mentioned earlier, or maybe doing missions is some kind of "earn your right to be here" type of deal and the commanders do missions to fulfill their part and stay in the group.

I guess my question is, who gives the missions? Does someone shine a bat-signal into the sky and co-op commanders altruistically drop everything they're doing to come help, or do the commanders have a boss who pairs them up to go do the mission and pays them for it afterward?

The commanders are definitely part of the Dominion if Donny Vermillion is telling the truth in The Vermillion Problem, so maybe they get paid by the hour and Mengsk or someone assigns them missions. Not sure why it's always two commanders specifically, but maybe that's where Nova Covert Ops comes into play and Mengsk had a task that only required one commander - Nova - instead of two commanders.

So, I guess the answer is Mengsk? Is Mengsk assigning the missions?

    Suggestions on PC build

    Posted: 12 Nov 2019 07:00 PM PST

    Hi all,

I am in the market to purchase a new laptop, and I want to be able to play SC2 on the highest-possible end for graphics. Ideally, I've always been loyal to HP and AMD and would really like to stick with them if possible. Also another thing I'd like to add is that I don't play multiplayer or co-op, it's just solely campaign only. I'm considering laptops only since I like their portability, and I already own a non-gaming desktop. Thanks in advance for your advice. (I'm also very new to Reddit and apologize in advance if this isn't the right kind of thing to post on here).
