    SC1 tips / guide for a SC2 player

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 12:39 PM PST

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone knows of a guide for SC1 built for SC2 players. I already know basic concepts that are consistent in both games so I want a guide that can skip the unecessary stuff and explain SC1 in SC2 terms. Explaining the unit differences, how macro works differently etc.

Does anyone know of such a guide?

What is wrong with people who do this? Leaving games to tank their MMR to beat lower ranked players?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 05:08 AM PST

I just played a game against a guy who was obviously smurfing in diamond 3 and I checked their match history and they instantly left 25 games in a row yesterday to tank their MMR so they could beat up on lower ranked players. Can i report them for this? It completely ruins the game for the rest of us

    Hero Line Wars Builds

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:56 PM PST

I apologise if this is the wrong place to ask, but what are some great builds for characters, and what characters are good?

Keep in mind I'm not a noob to the game, but I'm curious about the top line characters and builds.

One of my favorite chars is pyrotech and I've been fidgeting with a build for him, currently I'm running Apostle, dread stone, grim, sanlayn, helculars, and the item in between helculars and apostle. I figure that the buffs from all 3 levels of apostle stack if I'm correct making my turrets have insane DR. What do you think of this? What would you recommend? Also I would be very grateful for a build for Sniper, Spirit Mage, Dawn Priest, Garrison, Baron, and Death Knight (I think that's his name, it's the arthas wc3 model)

I know it's alot, but I would be very grateful for some help.

    IEM Katowice 2021 discussion

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:22 AM PST

I have to say, figuring out the 36 players that will qualify is quite confusing. I think I have finally figured this out.

17 players total qualify from all the non korean regions. It seeks 10 koreans(1 katowice 2020 winner, 2 winners of gsl, and the next top 7 ranked koreana that arent any of the 3 I just mentioned for a total of 10 koreans in r24). Then 8 more koreans make the play in stage for total of 18. Then there is 1 more spot that makes the round of 20 that was previously reserved for the winner of the last chance tourney, instead they are adding all points up for the regions and whichever region has the highest point scorer not already qualified foe the round of 20 gets an extra and final spot. Right now Dark 11th in korea and has more ept points than any non qualified player from another region.

This should mean he gets the final round of 20 spot which means the 9th place korean finisher for the play in stage gets to become the last spot.

So essentially 19 koreans will make up the 36 spots.

Can someone verify this is correct? Assuming no one passes darks points which at this point seems rather unlikely. Thanks

Easy way to use two mods at once?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 03:55 PM PST

The starcraft map editor is way too complicated for me, is there an easier way to combine mods in an offline game? The already fully supports mods, I don't understand why you basically need to be a software engineer to use more than one at a time.

Why am i depressed with 2v2 games?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 09:38 AM PST

Initially i was thinking about just playing 2v2 for warming up my hand and refreshing brain before queuing for 1v1 and it did helped out but i have somehwat become addicted to 2v2 for a period of time and that stressed me quite a bit, maybe im not as composed as Protech seems to be as he has had 10 years of doing so. By watching his stream i've seen how his teammate is more or lessly keeping up on a similar macro pace, in contrast im getting very different people whose gamplays cover the entire spectrum from total troll to absolute cooperative. The latter however seems to be on a very high percentile but my winrate has dropped about 10% than of 2v2 games in previous 2 expansions. Besides that i don't get why i get more point deducted when losing than i earn when winning mostly, together with 50% winrate im stuck at master 3 without progress.

Maybe literally nobody but me think so much about team game in starcraft 2 ? or am i pursuing the ideal matchmaking that doesn't exist at all? my standard isn't as high as 100% as i can put up with lost games due to failed cheese, failed push and failed harrassing or bad synergies. However i srsly don't enjoy getting matched mostly with allies who can somehow think one base 6 gate proxy would work against TZ , or manuevering with one type of unit throughtout entire game. While playing 1v1 as random allows you to discover perspectives of 9 different matchups, 2v2 then is 36 and that can be demanding as there are many more executable strategies, and i am not caring enough to think in the other's shoes when its referring to those delusional plays of whose as mentioned above. Should i leave it alone knowing it won't work but will demorealize or help ally and waste my potential to macro? So many hard decisions to make when you contemplate 2v2 play as in regards to 1v1.
