    King of Battles finalists.

We have 4 Terrans in finals.
    Cure, TY, Clem and Maru.

The bracket is dark and full of Terrans, apparently.

Dark made a brilliant play today vs Trap GSL RO16 Group D

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 06:12 AM PDT

Obvious spoiler alert if you haven't seen todays group in GSL.

During the first game vs Trap, Dark did a massive dive on Traps lategame carrier-based army. The way he did it was pretty brilliant and I had to do a double take to see what actually happened, because the fight shouldn't have been that one sided in my mind.

But basically he parasitic bombed the skytoss army, then ran his corruptors into the army, forcing the carrier interceptors to engage the corruptors while taking damage from parasitic bomb, popping all the interceptors and taking a massive win in that engagement.

If the corruptors didn't dive right into the middle of the protoss army, the interceptors would be out of range for the parasitic bomb. The ultras on the ground is the icing on the cake keeping the archons busy.

    Here is the engagement.

Cure really is an online god

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:34 AM PDT

Obvious spoilers for the ongoing King of Battles tournament, but Cure has eliminated both Reynor (5-2) and Serral (3-0) in the same week. He might get the chance to add Rogue to the list too.

Not bad for a guy who got knocked out of GSL in the Ro16. Clearly if GSL was held online, Cure would already be the champion.

    Neuro podcast

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 06:07 PM PDT

Hey, I've been listening to neuro's podcasts for a while and I find them excellent. Both the voice of neuro, and agent Smith.

It's a long time he hasn't uploaded any. I don't really follow his stream but was hoping that someone here knew something. Did he cancel them?

I know it's not really starcraft related (even if he is a sc2 personality) but didn't know where to ask. Thanks

Answer to Artosis question about slow/fast zones and mineral lines

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 07:44 AM PDT

The question was: How would it be if there was an acceleration zone on top of a mineral line or a slow zone on top of rich minerals.

The mining cycle is 2s mining 3s travel. A slow zone makes it take roughly 4s and a fast roughly 2s, for a total of 4 and 6 seconds respectively.

For fast zones, it basically makes it so far away patches are now the same as close ones. So a 16 worker line paired up gives roughly the same as a 23 worker line. Every worker works ~10-20% better than before it, depending on if it's paired on a closer or farther patch. Max saturation is essentially 16.

For slow zone and rich mineral, you get 40% more minerals, but each patch is essentially far so you get -20% from the increase from 5 to 6s for a mining cycle. Essentially, you get ~12% more mineral income compared to a regular blue mineral base for the first 2/patch, but can fully saturate to 21 (3 per close patch 4 per far patch) for the normal 40% increase for each patch. Remember you have 6 instead of 8 patches too... this means at 16 workers it's about 5% less and at 21 about 5% more.

Mix that with the fact that gold base have ~2000 less minerals in total and you need 4 in each gas for full gas saturation, you'd rather have the fast blue ones!

Can Maru get the G5L? (Spoilers)

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 12:57 PM PDT

He has been playing great these last few weeks, his TvT, despite always being a weakness is looking very strong since he beat Byun and Inno without dropping a map, the most dangerous Zerg players are out, and if he beats Trap(which he can do) the most dangerous Protoss is out.

    Anyone else feeling it?

    Replay Request

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:15 PM PDT

Hey, so I don't speak Korean and I don't know if it's even possible, but there was a fantastic Broodwar game Light put up on his youtube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tia0gDdnfhE&list=WL&index=38 ) and I was wondering if the replay is posted or can be accessed from anywhere. Artosis talked about it on ASL and put it up on his Twitter, but for the life of me I can't find an actual replay file, just the video from Light's perspective. I totally get it if it really is inaccessible, but any help here would be awesome, thanks!
