    The battlestation has activated its lockdown protocol, which deploys fields that slow down your forces, seals off resource nodes, and deploys shields on the defenders. Strike with precision to get through their setup.

    Barrier
    Enemy units gain a temporary shield upon the first time they take damage.
    Mineral Shields
    Mineral clusters at player bases are periodically encased in a shield which must be destroyed for gathering to continue.
    Time Warp
    Enemy Time Warps are periodically deployed throughout the map.

    Notes:

    • Time Warp slows down player units and structures in a large area until it dissipates.
    • Time warp starts as a red circle on the ground, which gives players time to move out of its area before it spawns the slowing bubble.
    • Barrier gives a 100 health shield to units that don't get killed in 1 hit.
    • Mineral shields are 50 health structures. A minimap ping indicates their arrival. If not destroyed they last a very long time then they disappear on their own.
    • Player units and static defense DO NOT autotarget Mineral Shields.
    • Time Warp affects the artifact trucks.

    For those who haven't been watching his stream, Artosis has been queuing up into the same opponent on and off over the course of the last few weeks. During these matches he is constantly harassing his opponent in both the in game chat and through his stream. Many of his viewers then go to the other players stream and harass him. The smaller streamer has tried to reach out to Artosis in game to figure out the situation and Artosis has only blocked him and is consistently belittling the other player.     Let me be clear. I have loved watching Artosis and have been a sub to him in the past. I watch GSL every week and it is great, but when he goes on stream and belittles his opponent every time they queue into each other it is just awful to see. We need the community to not be so harmful to each other if we can.

    Here's a list of every relevant balance change since patch 4.0 (free to play patch) that is still in the game, or was tried and reverted.

    I've seen a few comments on reddit about protoss being nerfed 'every patch for two years' so I went and collated every change that I could find since the F2P patch (Nov 2017) into one big page of patch notes. I have included changes in here that were attempted and reverted (such as the observer speed buff and nerf) as separate changes so we can see what balance changes blizzard attempted and ultimately decided not to include.

    Seeing all the changes over time in one list puts things in an interesting perspective, such as Oracle revalation (over two years) going from a 43 second duration to 15 seconds. And how recall over time received one buff that was reverted and 3 significant nerfs.

    There are changes I have not included, such as:

    • Visual effect added for units picked up by the Warp Prism.

    Protoss changes:

    Nexus:

    Chrono boost:

    • Duration Doubled and effectiveness halved

    Recall:

    • Recall warp-in time increased from 0 seconds to 0.7 second

    • Recall radius decreased from 6.5 to 2.5

    • Cooldown Reduced from 130 to 85 seconds

    • Recall cooldown increased from 85 to 130

    Gained battery overcharge

    Shield Battery

    • Cost increased from 75 to 100 minerals

    • HP/Shields reduced from 200/200 to 150/150

    • Cost decreased from 200/100 to 150/100.

    Twilight Council

    • Blink research cost reduced from 150/150 to 100/100

    • Blink research cost increased from 100/100 to 150/150

    Robotics Bay

    • Cost decreased from 200/200 to 150/150.

    Fleet Beacon

    • Graviton Catapult upgrade removed.

    Dark Shrine

    • Shadow Stride research time decreased from 121 to 100 seconds

    Zealot

    • The Charge upgrade no longer provides Zealots with +8 damage on impact. Instead, it increases Zealot movement speed from 3.15 to 4.72, up from 4.13

    Stalker

    • Particle Disruptors weapon damage changed from 10 (+4 Armored) to 15 (+6 Armored).

    • Weapon speed changed from 1 to 1.54.

    • Particle Disruptors' damage reduced from 15 (21 vs. armored) to 13 (18 vs. armored) and period reduced from 1.54 to 1.34.

    • Protoss Ground Weapons upgrade will provide +1 base damage and +1 armored instead of +2 base damage.

    Sentry

    • Hallucination energy cost decreased from 100 to 75.

    • Guardian Shield radius increased from 4 to 4.5.

    Adept

    • Shade sight increased from 2 to 4.

    • Gateway build time increased from 27 seconds to 30 seconds. Warp Gate cooldown remains unchanged

    High Templar

    • Feedback now deals 0.5 damage per point of energy drained, down from 1.

    • Feedback range increased from 9 to 10.

    Dark Templar

    • Shadow Stride cooldown decreased from 21 to 14 seconds

    Observer

    • Gained Surveilance mode

    • Movement speed increased from 2.63 to 3.01.

    • Gravitic Boosters upgrade now increases movement speed by 1.51, up from 1.31.

    • Observer movement speed decreased from 3.01 to 2.63.

    • Gravitic Boosters upgrade now increases movement speed by 1.31, down from 1.51.

    Warp Prism

    • Cost increased from 200 to 250 minerals.

    • Pick up range decreased from 6 to 5.

    Immortal

    • Cost increased from 250/100 to 275/100

    Colossus

    • Thermal Lance base range increased from 6 to 7.

    • Thermal Lance damage changed from 12 to 10 (+5 light).

    • Protoss ground weapon upgrades will add +1 to base and +1 to light.

    • Extended Thermal Lance cost reduced from 200/200 to 150/150.

    • Range upgrade increased Thermal Lance range by +2 instead of +3.

    • Colossus weapons now have turret tracking

    Disruptor

    • Changed and reverted to current form

    Void Ray

    Gained Flux Vanes

    • Increases the Void Ray's movement speed from 3.5 to 4.65.

    • Increases the Void Ray's acceleration from 2.8 to 3.76.

    • After the upgrade, the Prismatic Alignment ability will still reduce the Void Ray's movement speed to 2.625.

    • Research cost: 100/100.

    • Research duration: 57 seconds.

    • Prismatic Alignment speed reduction decreased from 40% to 25%

    Oracle

    • Increase build time from 37 to 43 seconds.

    • Build time reduced from 43 to 37 seconds

    • Changed from Light to Armored

    Revelation

    • Duration reduced from 43 to 30 seconds.

    • Revelation energy cost decreased from 50 to 25.

    • Revelation cooldown increased from 2 seconds to 10 seconds.

    • Revelation duration decreased from 30 seconds to 15 seconds.

    Stasis Ward

    • Will no longer affect Zerg larva or eggs.

    • Stasis Ward has a 170 second timed life duration.

    Pulsar Beam

    • Weapon changed from Spell to Normal damage. Armor will now reduce the Pulsar Beam damage.

    • Damaged reduced from 15 (+10 Light) to 15 (+7 light)

    • Reverted back to spell damage

    • Beam weapon 'bug fix'

    Tempest

    • Cost decreased from 300/200 to 250/175.

    • Supply cost decreased from 6 to 5.

    • HP/Shields decreased from 300/150 to 150/125.

    • Movement speed increased from 2.63 to 3.5.

    • Acceleration increased from 1.49 to 2.8.

    • Movement speed decreased from 3.5 to 3.15.

    • Acceleration decreased from 2.8 to 2.1.

    • Kinetic Overload (anti-air) range decreased from 15 to 14.

    • Health increased from 150 to 200.

    • Shields decreased from 125 to 100.

    Carrier

    • Interceptor cost increased from 10 to 15.

    • Build time decreased from 86 seconds to 64 seconds.

    I came back to the game after a few weeks of not playing and there is now the countdown timer we've been asking for years for. So...why does it suck so badly? I can't even select my workers after the countdown reaches zero (more like 1-2 seconds after). Kind of defeats the purpose of a countdown timer if you can't select your units immediately after it hits 0 and they start moving.

    Why do the Zerg have names, and what do they mean?

    So, I was working on possibly making a Starfinder campaign set in the Starcraft universe, and a thought occured: If I want to have some Zerg villains, important ones should have names, especially after all the namea we were given in Heart of the Swarm.

    Wait.

    How do Zurvan, Dehaka, Brakk, and the primal pack leaders have names? What is their language like? Do they even have a language? How do they choose their names?

    And what about the Broodmothers? I know Kerrigan named Niadra, but what about the others, like Naktul, Zagara, or Ryloth? How did they get their names? How did Abathur get his name if he was a creation of the Overmind? What was the basis for said names? Is there a secret Zerg language we don't know about?

    These thoughts have been on my mind, and I wanted some opinions from the community on the matter.
