Congrats to the first Jin Air player to qualify for IEM Katowice! Posted: 12 Jan 2020 01:20 AM PST Maru did . . . play well today. I see a lot of people blaming Maru's win on this or that but it really comes down to that he is playing as well as he usually does. He hasn't been making a lot of mistakes that he usually doesn't, even compared to this year in the GSL. He could be confident, or not jet lagged, or whatever, he is simply playing up to his usual standard. So if anyone wants to cry imba these games are not the hill to die on. His opponents didn't play well and Maru did. Thanks for casting Wardi. Link to the Maru vs trap youtube vod. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Jan 2020 01:06 PM PST I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but I have been playing/watching starcraft VERY casually over the course of the past 15 years. I'm not completely new to the game and strategy (I love watching day[9] dailies), but I also have never played the game competitively. I'm really good at other competitive games (mostly shooters) which I am getting burnt out on and want to start a new game. My question is, realistically, is it too late to dive into starcraft or SC2? UED vs current Dominion? Which force is more powerful? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 10:35 AM PST It is stated that UED is much more advanced and stronger than the Dominion but i actually disagree with that for four big reasons. 1) UED rarely get into conflicts with forces like the Protoss or Zerg while Dominion has to be vigilant every single day so Dominion has far more motivation to advance their own technology rapidly to combat constant threats of the like of the Zerg or the Tal Darim. Initially UED indeed more advanced than Korpulu Sector but years of conflict with the alien hardening and strengthening the Dominion far more than UED. 2) Dominion occasionally interacts with the Protoss and Zerg in both peaceful relationship and conflicts. Therefore, this enables the Dominion to learn the principle behind Protoss psionic technology as well as Zerg biology either through exchange of knowledge or salvaging and harvesting wreckage of destroyed Protoss tech or Zerg Carcass to create new and more advanced technology. Finally, Dominion also gets their hands of some Xel Naga artifacts to advance their own tech too. 3) UED mostly still mostly follows the doctrine of United Power League in purging and discriminating psionic individuals and mutants. This result in their Ghost Program far less advanced than the Dominion, especially now the Dominion has the Spectres. Furthermore, Dominion Ghosts and Spectres also receive some training by the Protoss making them even more formidable. 4) UED still largely ignorant about what happens in the Korpulu Sector so far not to mention the event with Amon so UED will have disadvantages in dealing with the Dominion which had hardened from fighting a powerful godlike alien. What do you guy think? [link] [comments]

Does anyone else find this game to be stressful and not fun? Posted: 11 Jan 2020 08:50 PM PST Just like the title says - does anyone find the game to just be not enjoyable to play? I've returned to the game after taking a lot of time off from the game. I've played about 15 hours since being back. My experience being back has just been frustration and not fun at all. It's unfortunate because I love watching sc2 but being back has reminded me why I stopped playing. Maybe I'm too on edge while playing and need to learn to relax while playing, but at the same time I think maybe if you have to force yourself to play a game it shouldn't be what you do in your free time. Does anyone relate to this? For reference I'm platinum 1 and right on the line between plat 1 and diamond 3 [link] [comments] |
