You know what's crazy? By the end of the year LotV will turn 5 years old and make up half of the life-time of SC2.

[PylonShow] Which episodes are best for me?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 11:43 PM PST

I like Artosis and his guests, but I am only interested in some episodes of it. For example, the Blizzcon episode was amazing! I loved all that about Alphastar and Carbot. I liked the balance "discussion" (special crying about everything being unfair to Terran) he had after the patch, that whole episode was great. I loved the Twitch Streaming episode with WinterSC and other streamers.

I quite dislike other episodes, though, where they talk about tournament games in a way where if you did not see the game, you have no idea what they are talking about. I also dislike discussions like "that player dropped a mule on the enemy, was it BM or what is not BM? Did he just missclicked when he wanted to scan?" for 20 minutes. I just dislike proplay drama, I like discussions about meta and interesting things connected with Starcraft (like Carbot, twitch streaming, alphastar or gamedevelopment behind starcraft).

Are there any episodes you would recommend?

    Charity Tournament NGLB2 for AbleGamers

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 05:26 PM PST

    Greetings!

I hope everyone's 2020 is shaping up well so far!

In December of 2018 I hosted a fundraising tournament called 'No Gamer Left Behind' where the participants each played Starcraft with a handicap of their choosing. We raised $1,650 in one day for AbleGamers, a nonprofit foundation that creates innovative ways for people with disabilities to play video games.

This year, I want to keep our momentum going and host the second annual 'NGLB' tournament in Starcraft 2 supporting the AbleGamers foundation. Last NGLB was my first experience hosting a tournament; I learned a ton and will be making improvements for this year. NGLB2 will be live January 25th and 26th! The first day (25th at 2pm EST) will be community-driven where everyone can participate. There will be arcade games, team games, and FFAs to raise awareness and hype for the tournament. If you have any interest in participating in the community-driven event you can either join the 'NGLB' chat channel in game or you can join the discord channel Discord. For the actual tournament on Sunday (26th at 2pm EST), my aim is to have 8 contestants like we did last time. The contestants can be streamers of any notoriety, and they will each be provided with a list of handicaps from which to choose. We are still in need of contestants to play in the tournament, casters, and observers. If you are interested in participating in any way, please review the list below and email / DM me on twitter. If you'd like to be in the tournament, please include which handicap you've chosen and the race you'll be playing.

    DAWStationTwitch@gmail.com @Daw_Station

    Handicaps

-Sticky Fingers (Taping or Rubber-banding fingers together)
-The Fog of War is Real!? (Covering the map)
    -It's Blinding! (Drastically impairing vision)
-Hunt and Peck (Only using index fingers)
-Backwards Compatibility! (Playing in a mirror)
-Baby it's Cold Outside (Playing while wearing mittens)
    -Near-Sighted (Playing zoomed in)
    -Happy Feet (Feet only)
-Delirium (Using an unfamiliar keybinding setup)
-The DAW Classic (Using only one hand)
    -Knuckle up! (Using knuckles only)
-The Sound of Silence (Playing with no sound)
    -Shifted (Keyboard stays vertical)
-Penny for your Thoughts (Covering resources / Supply)

Am I missing something or is SC2 really bugged? These values don't match my MMR gain at all.

Is Bio Terran relegated to 2 or 3-base all-ins and is Mech the only viable macro style now?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 05:03 AM PST

Especially for ladder players it seems like playing Bio is just sentencing yourself to having 500 less MMR.

Professional games all show bio allins or mech macro.

Do we like that, or not?

Does it need to be fixed?

    Are maps to blame?

    Discuss :-)!
