Archon duo in 1v1 ladder, a fun little idea.

Archon duo in 1v1 ladder, a fun little idea.

(Skip first paragraph if you want, just flavor and some info about me ^_^)

Shyo what's crackalacking ladies and gentlemen, all of you StarCraft 2 enthusiasts, players and people alike <3 It's me, it's your boy, LiquidFluid coming at you with my very first idea post!! I am probably a new face to a lot of people so here's some random info about me. I am a GM Zerg streamer who utilizes a lot of Nydus rushes, Ravager aggression and +1 Zerglings. I do a lot of all ins :P

So, I was chilling eating some pizza and a fantastic idea hit me. What if, players in solo ladder could opt-in to go against an archon duo!! I have fond memories of having some of my friends duo against me and absolutely tax my apm and it felt like a really intense games, but not just that.. Players of lower skill could possibly run into opponents they would almost never run into on ladder! I imagine some Diamond/plat duos could do beastly things.

Of course there would have to be some sort of intensive for players on the receiving end of a 1v2 to opt-in and my proposal is the player going solo earns 2x MMR or 1.5x MMR from a win but should they lose, they only lose an expected amount of MMR based off the duo's MMR. Hopefully the picture helps shed some light on what it would look like, as far as loading screens it would be a cross between Archon and normal 1v1s.

I hope that this post gets a lot of traction and feedback <3 I think it would be super hype to see streamers opt-in against archon duo's and have some crazy matches ^_^ thank you for reading !!

How to enjoy Starcraft II with limited time?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 10:18 AM PST

    Hi,

I'm a 30 year old that got in to SC2 a few years ago, I play mech. I played a lot and I really enjoy the grind, I'm addicted to the slow process of improving. I've been on a slow-steady-wins-the-race kind of mindset and done a lot to try to just improve my macro. I did Vibe's terran bronze to plat build and took it to the extreme, measured all the macro stats until I was doing them very well. After that I started doing the same with a TvP mech build but using it in all matchups to really grind it out and made 4.2k mmr within a few days.

That was my peak mmr and I felt that I was really on my way up since I made it there with pure macro mechanics. No scouting, no strategy. Just maxing outmacroing and throwing loads of stuff at the other guy faster than he could handle.

After that I had to stop playing as much and now I'm lost and don't know how to enjoy the game anymore. I dropped to 3.5k mmr and I'm not really having fun games either. What advice do you have to help me enjoy just playing instead of trying hardcore.

I usually play a game or to most weekdays and a couple of hours in the weekend. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Something I missed most about this year’s global finals that didn’t seem to be talked about

The WCS Signature Series that started in 2016 was completely absent this year

Man this year's Blizzcon really did feel rushed than the previous years since I've been watching. Super unfortunate

SC Remastered: original 1998 campaign setting

    Posted: 10 Nov 2019 12:42 PM PST

In options -> Sound there is a setting called "original 1998 campaign"

What exactly does this setting do? Can't seem to find any information about it.

    Thanks.
