    How did people manage to change Starcraft 1 resolution?

    As far as I know Starcraft 1 uses direct draw rendering, meaning that the resolution was limited to 640x480. However I am 100% sure that there are mods like widescreen/resolution(?) that somehow managed to change the resolution, probably by changing the rendering device... or something else?

    I have another game that uses direct draw and I was wondering how the modders managed to change Starcraft 1 resolution. Same goes for diablo 1.

    I assume that starcraft 1 remastered got completely rewritten so it's probably irrelevant.

    New to Starcraft

    Hey everyone. I am new to RTS games but I want to start playing them, and I thought I'd try Starcraft. I tried WC3 but it felt too overwhelming, with having to deal with your base, units, hero, items, etc.

    I know SC doesn't have heroes or items so I'm hoping it will be easier in that regard. But I have some questions first.

    1. Is it even worth getting started? Are there many new players or will I just get annihilated by pros constantly?

    2. Should I go with Starcraft 1 or 2 first?

    3. Are the campaigns worth doing?

    Hi,

    Ive been playing starcraft II for a few weeks now. So far only multiplayer and im loving it. I mostly play zerg and I saw that it is possible to purchase zerg campaign "Heart of swarm", but I also noticed it is labeled as episode 2. Without knowing anything about starcraft II lore is it recommended to start playing from epsiode 1 or is episode 2 totally standalone and it is not important to play 1 before it?
