    Brood War Pathing AMA

    My coworker worked on Brood War and did the pathing. It came up this morning when we were talking about RTS games. Let me know if you have any questions and I can pass them on.

    Warning though, we do not work for Blizzard or a contractor they use. We can't reference any old code or coworkers, this is all based on his memory.

    Edit: He also did medic AI, if there's anything you want to ask about that

    When I say Brood War, I mean specifically the expansion. He redid the pathing because it was inefficient, even though that's something that was done with the original game

    Hi i've been gone from the scene for a while and can't find any active youtube channels to watch recent BW tournament games. Afreecas channel seems not to be updated with replays and honestly none of their live streams even showed up for me for a while now. Can you guys tell me a good youtube channel and maybe a twitch stream for tournaments?

    The biggest, hypest tournament on right now, the WardiTV 2020 continues today with the Quarter Finals. The broadcast begins at 13:00 EET/ 18:00 KST / 17:00 CST / 01:00 PST / 04:00 EST.

    Today's games are RAGNAROK VS. UTHERMAL, CLEM VS. SOLAR, RAYNOR VS. CURE and TRAP VS. SHOWTIME.

    Playing sc2 again. asking for 2-3 simple build orders?

    I havent played sc2 since 2012 near end of WoL. I was low masters before quitting for LoL.

    i have not been playing any games recently, and wanted to start sc2 again since its fully free now.

    i was wondering, what are 2-3 simple build orders for each race that i can use for now until i get familiar with the game again and the new units?

    More frequent match threads

    Apologies to the co-op community but I think match threads for premier tournaments would be a better use of a sticky. Although Twitch chat isn't quite the train wreck it usually is for other games, it's still not a good place to discuss tournaments. WardiTV 2020 has thousands of viewers, a significant prize pool, and top tier players competing and yet there's no place for us to discuss the event.

    More highlights

    This is something we all could easily be doing. Considering the amount of Starcraft this is being played everyday between pro tournaments and amateur games, the dearth of highlights is bemusing. Perhaps the game doesn't lend itself to highlights quite as well as other esports but I know there's still clips worth being shared on here.

    Pick ems

    As I understand it, this does not yet exist. I know Counter Strike and League of Legends already do this and perhaps other esports do as well. I could probably throw something together but if anybody has a good idea how we could implement pick ems for tournaments, that would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps we could even have some sort of prize for the most accurate bracket.

    Update the event list on the side bar

    This list of tournaments is taking up the majority of the side bar and it's not even up to date. It'd be nice to come on here and see an actual up to date tournament list.

    If you have any other suggestions or perhaps criticisms of mine, please feel free the share them.
