Elazer takes the series with 35-24 score!

In total it took about 13 hours for all the games to be played. Both Harstem and Elazer streamed their pov and indy was casting too.

3/4 player 1v1 maps with spawns revealed at start

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 10:54 PM PDT

A quick question for mapmakers and highlevel/pro players. I know that 3 and 4 player maps have generally been phased out as the randomness of scouting is a big factor in those maps.

However, just wondering why don't mapmakers create 3 or 4 player maps whereby the starting spawns are random, but it's revealed at the start of the game.

With 3 or 4 player maps with spawns revealed at the start, you remove the element of luck with regards to scouting the spawns, but each map can play out very differently depending on the spawn.

I suppose I'm just getting a bit bored of seeing the same-ish layouts for the current crop of 1v1 maps (Purity and Industry and Golden Wall don't get played too much) and would love it if they reintroduce 3 or 4 player maps, but with the scouting randomness removed.

    Gold Series Team Matches

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 09:39 PM PDT

Anyone have any idea where I could watch these Gold Series Team Matches? Spent like an hour searching but can't seem to find a link to any stream anywhere. Seem like it'd be a cool format to watch.

[Question] Are there any Starcraft Re-enactment Groups out there?

    Posted: 21 Apr 2020 12:32 AM PDT

Hello, we are a group of StarCraft enthusiasts from Japan, and grew up with StarCraft. We have embarked on a journey with our heroes. We cheered in delight as James Raynor rallied the raiders and kicked the revolution into overdrive, and shed tears of solitude at the noble sacrifice of the Protoss Hero Z****** (hidden for spoiler reasons) to severe the connect of the Protoss hivemind to the Kala.

We wish to recreate those memorable moments, using our own abilities, so that the stories and sagas will burn brightly into the future.

Together, we have formed the re-enactment group at our university. Unlike a standard e-sports club, our goal and vision are not to compete against one another in one-on-one combat, but to co-operate to tell a saga encompassing the Starcraft universe, and educate the others on the lore.

The players have discussed among themselves prior to the showing of which story to tell, and it is up to them to tell the story through the in-game messaging chat, their infinite tactics and strategy, and their heroic monologues on our Discord channel to keep the story living and breathing.

Are there any other collectives in the world that do dramatic retellings of the StarCraft Lore? If so, we would love to hear how you project the epic stories of StarCraft through the ingame medium and kick this discussion into overdrive.

What drug is stimpack supposed to be?

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 08:47 PM PDT

Is stimpack cocaine, meth, or a variety of other stimulants? I'm thinking it could be cocaine. Cocaine is a stimulant that makes you feel invincible. That's probably an important feeling for a marine about to die. The high from cocaine is also fairly short, and stimpack only works briefly. However meth gives you feelings of aggression and it hurts you more visibly so that could explain the hp loss. Cocaine can still kill you though. Maybe it's both or neither? Stim"PACK" could imply there are a variety or pack of a few different stimulants. Does anyone know the lore behind the ability? Thoughts?
